Acid-Base Effects of Topical Mafenide Acetate in the Burned Patient

Abstract
Ten burned patients were observed for 24 hours after treatment with topical mafenide acetate cream. This drug was rapidly absorbed systemically and converted to p-carboxybenzenesulfonamide. Both agents are carbonic anhydrase inhibitors.Keywords
