Abstract
Geographic information is commonly derived from remote sensor imagery. The images are digitized and segmented in categories of interest, such as terrain or land use types. The regions resulting from this segmentation process can then be individually labelled, using connected component analysis or refinements of it. Polygonal boundary chains can be constructed for each of these regions, and the topological relationships among the regions can also be extracted. Keywords
