Abstract
A spin wave resonance study is presented on the variation of the anisotropy field in (La,Ga): YIG films as a function of the growth conditions. The homogeneity of a film depends strongly on the diameter and the axial rotation speed of the substrate, but also on the growth temperature. A series of films grown at one temperature and rotation speed, but with different deposition times show variations in the lattice mismatch, the average saturation magnetization and the uniaxial anisotropy. Based on the results of the experimental resonance spectra obtained by etching a thick film successively, it is found that the variations in the saturation magnetization as well as in the anisotropy field are restricted to a small region only (0,5 μm) next to the substrate. The experimental resonance spectra have been compared with numerically obtained predictions. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
