Abstract
Finite-difference techniques, in conjunction with matrix calculations on digital computers, are used to evaluate the cut-off wave numbers and transverse field configurations of electromagnetic waves guided through isotropic media. The procedure is illustrated in detail for the conventional form of rectangular and ridged waveguide and for these guides when inhomogeneously loaded with dielectric media. Keywords
