Abstract
Voltage is applied in the surface direction of Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) heterofilms consisting of arachidic acid (C20, Y type, nonpolar) LB film and TCNQ-derivative (2-pentadecyl-7,7',8,8'-tetracyanoquinodimethane, C15·TCNQ, Z type, polar) or protoporphyrin IX dimethyl ester (PPDM, Z type, polar) LB film, and the voltage drop in the heterofilm is measured. As a result, a potential well is generated in the heterofilm of [nonpolar LB film/polar LB film], but no potential well is observed in the heterofilm of [polar LB film/nonpolar LB film] where the polar and the nonpolar LB films are deposited in reverse order of the former heterofilm. Keywords
