The gene for leukocyte antigen-related tyrosine phosphatase (LAR) is localized to human chromosome 1p32, a region frequently deleted in tumors of neuroectodermal origin

Abstract
In situ hybridization was employed to localize a cDNA probe from the human protein tyrosine phosphatase gene LAR to human metaphase chromosomes. LAR, a putative tumor suppressor gene, has been localized to lρ32, a chromosomal region that is frequently found deleted in human neuroblastoma and pheochromocytoma.
