Abstract
Vegetation of Fire Island, New York is based exclusively on collections made by the authors in September-October, 1984, and April-October, 1985. Although, 411 specific and subspecific taxa of vascular plants are reported from the area including 254 genera and 89 families. Largest families are Poaceae (59 species) and Asteraceae (57 species) and largest genera are Panicum, Aster, Solidago, and Cyperus. Three hundred nineteen species are non-woody, which underscores the generally graminoid and herbaceous appearance of Fire Island. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
