Abstract
A theory of a hot electron in a strong magnetic field is developed. A density-matrix equation is solved in the quantum limit both for a semi-conductor with a simple band structure and for a semi-metal in which the same number of electron and holes coexist. As for the phonon-distribution two cases are considered: (i) Phonons are in thermal equilibrium, and (ii) phonon-drag effect is taken into account. Keywords
