Dislocation core effects in plasticity

Abstract
An attempt at reviewing the present knowledge of dislocation intrinsic mobility in single phase chemically stable crystals is made. Metals as well as non-metals are considered. It is shown that plasticity of materials is in general dominated by dislocation core effectsKeywords
