Abstract

Stereoselective annulations on Cr(CO)₃ complexed tetralone and benzosuberone§ derivatives have been achieved. Diastereomeric products are shown to be related by an epimerisable chiral centre. An unusually facile de-ethoxycarbonylation has been observed.
