Sequential Count and Decision Plans for Sampling Green Cloverworm (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) Larvae in Soybean

Abstract
Sequential count and decision plans using plant shake samples were developed for Plathypena scabra (F.) larvae. Larval dispersion patterns were analyzed by Taylor’s power law and Iwao’s regression technique. Both methods detected statistically significant aggregation for all larval stages. The results of these analyses were used to develop research-oriented sequential count plans and grower-oriented decision plans. Both plans were evaluated in the field during 1981.
