Abstract
The long‐range order in heat treated Permalloys near the composition Ni3Fe was determined from x‐ray measurements of the (100) superstructure reflection. Comparing heat treatments previously shown to stabilize magnetic anisotropy and magnetic saturation with those producing order, it can be concluded that long‐range order is not a significant factor in affecting the magnetic properties of the usual compositions of Permalloys. From the breadth of the (100) reflection, an antiphase domain size of 60 Å was estimated for ordered Ni3Fe.This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
