Abstract
Graphs are presented showing the variation of different characteristics of scintillation spectra when the thickness of the source is altered. Correlation curves between the valley-to-peak ratio and the other characteristics enable tests to be made to decide whether or not changes such as the apparent change in resolution of a spectrum from the resolution obtained with a point source is due to the thickness of the source or to the presence of secondary gamma rays. Keywords
