Fabrication of wellordered macroporous active carbon with a microporous framework

Abstract
Three-dimensionally ordered macroporous active carbon has been fabricated by carbonizing an aqueous solution of sucrose in the presence of sulfuric acid; nitrogen adsorption measurements show the presence of a microporous wall structure framework leading to a high BET surface area of 408 m2 g−1.
