Abstract
Excreted urate/ filtered urate ratios > 1.0 were demonstrated by appropriate clearance techniques in gouty and nongouty man, implying tubular secretion of urate. The results support the hypothesis that the renal regulation of urate excretion in man involves glomerular filtration, tubular reabsorption and tubular secretion. Keywords
