Abstract
Dental pulp fluid of the dog as shown by electrophoresis, contains the same protein fractions as the blood plasma. There was but little difference in the relative amounts of the various fractions in the two fluids. However, as the protein content of the plasma was 6.6% while that in the pulp fluid was 1.2%, the actual amount of the protein fractions in the former was approximately 5 times that in the latter. In the authors'' opinion, the dental pulp fluid may be regarded as a capillary transudate. The date of these experiments lend support to the conclusion deduced from relative concentrations in blood plasma and lymph, that albumin passes through the capillary endothelium approximately 1.6 times faster than globulin. Keywords
