Abstract
Gross and microscopic examinations were made of 95 hearts from cases. Sections were studied from the main stems, distal parts of the circumflex branches, the terminal part of the anterior descending branch of each circumflex artery, and muscular arteries in the anterior papillary muscle. Coronary sclerosis was found in 76% of the cases. Changes occurring in the intima, musculo-elastic layer, media, and adventitia are recorded. Nodular endar-teritis was the most common lesion. "Moenckeberg''s sclerosis"does not seem to occur in the heart. Severity of the sclerosis seems to vary with proximity of the section to commencement of the artery. It is usually more marked in the left coronary than in the right.
