Abstract
We consider the nonlinear response of a uniaxial antiferromagnet, exposed to an elliptically polarized magnetic field of frequency Ω, with the field in the basal plane. Explicit expressions are obtained for the contribution to the magnetic susceptibility cubic in the Cartesian components of the applied field, which describe the response at frequency Ω. We use these to calculate, as a function of applied power, the transmissivity of a thin film. We show that such samples should exhibit bistability under conditions outlined. Keywords
