Bromo Analogues of the Systemic Fungicides Triforine and N-(2,2,2-Trichloro-1-methoxyethyl) Formamide

Abstract
N,N-[Piperazine-l,4-diylbis(2,2,2-tribromoethylidene)]bisformamide, N-(2,2,2-tribromo-1-methoxyethyl) formamide and related arylaminoethyl- and aryloxyethyl-formamides have been prepared and examined as fungicides against a number of plant pathogens. The most interesting compounds are N-(2,2,2-tribromo-1-methoxyethyl)formamide and N-(2,2,2-tribromo-1-s-butyloxyethy1)formamide which show considerable systemic fungicidal activity against wheat mildew, Erysiphe graminis, when applied to plant roots.
