Abstract
We study the implications of Lorentz and gauge invariance for Reggeization of the pion trajectory in charged pion photoproduction and find that the pion need not be introduced as a kinematical singularity. As a consequence of having a dynamical Regge pion pole, we find that effects characteristic of an -channel nucleon pole appear automatically.
