Abstract
We demonstrate control of nonlinear oscillations to realize a novel memory function in a simple optical device, a hybrid electro-optic ring resonator. Input digital codes are used to selectively excite stable nonlinear oscillation modes in the device. The modes can be easily decoded with intensity thresholding. Modes with bit capacity up to 21 bits have been switched, thus demonstrating the potential for large capacity optical devices. Keywords
