Abstract
The relaxed steady state operation of a tubular fixed‐bed catalytic reactor under control of the inlet composition is investigated. It is shown that the performance of such a reactor can be improved under certain conditions by periodically varying inlet concentrations rather than keeping these concentrations time invariant. Keywords
