Abstract
The author discusses a technique for fitting the logistic growth-function to data on mortality rates at various concs. of a drug. By a simple transformation (which is facilitated by a scale nomograph presented in the article) the function becomes linear. The usual least-squares soln. is then made and theoretical mortalities readily found. A numerical illustration is given. Using chi-square the results appear somewhat better than those obtained by use of the integral of the normal curve in 7 illustrations from the literature. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
