Abstract
The structure of A -, B - and C -type vibrational-rotational bands of an asymmetric rotor is related to the band types of the two limiting symmetric rotors. The effect of the degree of asymmetry and the change in the effective inertial constants between the two vibrational states on the band structure is shown. The type of information which can be obtained from the analysis of asymmetric rotor bands is pointed out. Keywords
