Abstract
The oppressors, who oppress, exploit, and rape by virtue of their power, cannot find in this power the strength to liberate either the oppressed or themselves. Only power that springs from the weakness of the oppressed will be sufficiently strong to free both. (Freire, 1970, p. 28) I would like to underline the fact that the state's power (and that's one of the reasons for its strength) is both an individualizing and a totalizing form of power. Never, I think, in the history of human societies-even the old Chinese society-has there been such a tricky combination in techniques, and of totalization procedures. (Foucault, 1982, p. 213)Keywords
