Abstract
We derive an exact expression for the two-soliton solution to the Manakov equations, including the practically important case of two merging eigenvalues. This solution is a useful tool, e.g., for analysis of interaction between arbitrarily polarized soliton pulses in optical fibers. © 1996 The American Physical Society. Keywords
