Abstract
Measurements of the temperature and pressure dependences of the Raman spectra of the semiconducting ferroelectric SbSI indicate that the transition, which is first order at atmospheric pressure, becomes second order for p ≥ 1.4 kbar. Raman scattering near this tricritical point are discussed in terms of a Landau series expansion of the free energy. Keywords
