Abstract
Consecutive patients (100) operated on electively or emergency without clinical work for abdominal aortic aneurysms establishes the post operative prognosis up to a 10 yr follow-up period. The operative mortality of 12% is mainly due to renal coronary complications. All survivors, except 1, were reviewed; 64% 5 yr survival and 46% 8 yr survival rates were found. The importance of early and systematic surgical management is emphasized except when major contraindications, which are outlined, are present Echotomography appears to be the best method of following up small aneurysms (diameter < 7 cm) in elderly patients. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
