FT-IR Spectroscopy in an Industrial Laboratory

Abstract
FT-IR spectroscopy is used widely in many industrial laboratories. In combination with techniques such as gas chromatography, diffuse reflectance, and photoacoustic spectroscopy, it provides a means of tackling certain problems which would be impossible or at least very difficult and time-consuming with the use of dispersive Infrared instrumentation. This paper describes several examples in which FT-IR has proved to be of considerable value in dealing with problems from the research, development, and production areas of the plastics industry.
