Abstract
Chrome pyrope, with 64.8 % of the pyrope molecule and 8.6 % of the knorringite molecule, has been found in an alnöitic dyke north of Sundsvall. The garnet is obviously of upper-mantle origin. In its composition, it shows similarities to both garnets associated with diamonds and garnets from ultrabasic nodules in kimberlite. Keywords
