Abstract
Summary In the hamster the histamine forming rapacity (HFC) of various tissues was determined in the non-pregnant and pregnant states. In pregnancy, the HFC, as reflected in urinary histamine, was greatly elevated during the last 4-5 days of pregnancy. The placenta, and furthermore certain layers therein, were recognized as the sites of the increased rate of histamine formation. Keywords
