Abstract
Sea PrepTM agarose (FMC corp.) was used as a gelling agent for media in the culture of potato and tomato protoplasts. The concentration and conditions appropriate for gelling and liquifaction were determined. The new method provided increased calli transfer efficiency of up to 50-fold. Shoot formation from the protoplast-derived cells occurred normally and without reduction in frequency. Keywords
