Abstract
The antithiamine factor isolated from cotton seed (B. malabericum) was a light yellow amorphous substance. Thiamine hydrochloride, 20.5 .mu.g, was inactivated by 1 mg of the antithiamine factor. The antithiamine factor was characterized as 3,5-dimethoxy salicylic acid.
