Abstract
Since the type of repair depends on the type of hernia, classified in terms of pathologic anatomy as well as size, reconstructing the posterior wall is not always indicated, but when it is, as in the case presented, the anchoring of the reconstruction is critical: It must be both secure and tension-free to minimize the risk of recurrence. How to accomplish this is discussed, as is the selection of anesthesia for optimal results. Keywords
