Abstract
Self-consistent field calculations by the expansion method were carried out for the ground states of and Mo. Compared with solutions of the Hartree-Fock equations by the numerical integration technique, the wave functions obtained are accurate to 2-3 decimal places, and the total energies to about 5 significant figures.
