Abstract
Increasing reports of coloured effluent from waste water treatment plants receiving reactive dye waste from textile mills indicate the need to learn more about the fate of these dyes. The project concerns the development of analytical techniques for the analysis of reactive dyes in textile waste. An analytical procedure using High Performance Capillary Electrophoresis (HPCE) and High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) for the separation of a range of reactive dyes in textile waste water is described. The dyes belong to a range of bis-monochlorotriazinyl dyes used widely in the dyeing of cotton textiles. Keywords
