Tetrachlorobenzenes: Evaluation of risks to health from environmental exposure in Canada

Abstract
Tetrachlorobenzenes are included on the List of Priority Substances to be assessed under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act. Available data were critically evaluated to assess the human health effects of exposure to each of the isomers of tetrachlorobenzene in the Canadian environment. Adequate data on the carcinogenicity of each of the isomers of the tetrachlorobenzenes were not identified. The estimated average daily intakes of each of the tetrachlorobenzene isomers for the general population in Canada are 170 to 34,000 times less than the tolerable daily intakes derived from studies in experimental animals.
