Abstract
How can a price “special” be made more profitable for the manufacturer? Is it possible to predict sales which will be generated through price promotion? These are two of the basic questions that are examined in this article. A methodology is presented for optimizing manufacturers’ shipment quantities for price promotions in cases where the duration of the promotion is fixed and the item to be promoted is fair-traded.Keywords
