Abstract
The life history of Thyanta calceata (Say) was studied in Union County, IL, between May 1972 and October 1976. It was also reared in the laboratory. This stink bug emerged from overwintering sites in early March. The seasonal occurrence of the various developmental stages is discussed. It was dimorphic and apparently bivoltine. The 2 forms differed in temporal distribution. The incubation period in the laboratory averaged 6.8 days. Durations of the S nymphal stadia averaged 5.0, 10.3, 11.0, 12.8, and 17.8 days, respectively.
