Abstract
Linear response formulae for the phenomenological atomic transport coefficients LXY of non-equilibrium thermodynamics are analysed for Manning's random alloy model. Results are given for a simple decoupling and for a self-consistent decoupling of the hierarchy of time-dependent correlation functions. The self-consistent approximation results are identical with those of Manning. The relationship of the method to that used by Holdsworth and Elliott for the tracer diffusion coefficient is briefly discussed. Keywords
