Abstract
Performing numerical simulations and Abelian projection in SU(2) QCD, we find that Wilson loops composed of a residual U(1) gauge field alone show a strong enhancement when the Abelian projection is done in a U(1)-covariant gauge. Remarkably, the Creutz ratios determined from the Abelian Wilson loops approach the scaling curve with . Nonrenormalizable unitary gauges do not show such interesting types of behavior.
