Abstract
The heartwood of T. articulata was investigated. The following constituents have been identified: arabinose, carvacrol, thymohydroquinone, p-methoxythymol, thymoquinone, cedrol, hinokiol, hinokione, totarol and three new compounds, an [alpha],[beta]-unsaturated ketoalcohol C10H16O2, the phenolic diterpene ketone totarolone C20H28O2 and a diterpene hydroxy acid C20H30O3. The wood also contains an [alpha],[beta]-unsaturated ketone, totarolenone, which is hydrogenated to totarolone. Evidence is presented for the presence of [beta]- and gamma-thujaplicin, cedrene and a sesquiterpene alcohol C15H24O.This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
