Abstract
On the basis of a detailed investigation of a focus of neavei-transmitted onchocerciasis in the Belgian Congo, together with some considerations derived from veterinary onchocerciasis, it is concluded that the localization of onchocercomata is determined by the site of inoculation of the larval filariae and by the minute anatomy of the dermis. The migrating filariae are directed along dermal planes in flowing tissue fluid towards bony prominences, where they are arrested by intermittent or long-continued pressure. Keywords
