Abstract
Summary: The antigenic character of a neurovirulent Type I poliovirus and its attenuated mutant were analyzed by means of a quantitative complement fixation (CF) test. This technique yielded highly reproducible results and clearly distinguished the two virus strains in reciprocal cross-reactions. In contrast to the results obtained by the quantitative CF test no significant difference was found in the neutralization rate between anti-Mahoney serum and the two viruses. Keywords
