Abstract
The cross sections for elastic scattering with momenta in the interval have been measured. Our results are based on 224 scattering events found in a sample of 95 600 hypersons observed in an exposure of the 81-cm Saclay hydrogen bubble chamber to a stopping beam. These cross sections are analyzed in terms of effective-range theory. A wide spectrum of solutions in this formalism give acceptable agreement with the data.
