Abstract
The most general super-Weyl-invariant theory of matter coupled to supergravity is constructed in (1,0) superspace. This theory is shown to correspond to the heterotic string. A complete superfield formulation of supergravity, world-sheet gauge invariance, super-Weyl invariance, and string actions in (1,0) superspace is presented. Keywords
