Abstract
An electron microscope study of the decomposition process in supersaturated near-eutectoid Zn-Al alloys is described. It has been found that a fine-scale dispersion of Zn-rich and Al-rich grains is produced by a discontinuous reaction, contrary to previous reports that the structure forms by a spinodal process. Keywords
