Abstract
A procedure for the detection and determination of residues of sulphaquinoxaline in eggs and poultry is described. Sulphaquinoxaline is extracted from the sample with acetonitrile and, after a partition clean-up process, is hydrolysed to 2-aminoquinoxaline. The trifluoroacetyl derivative of this amine is a suitable compound for determination by gas-liquid chromatography with electron-capture detection. The method is applicable to residues at concentrations in the range 0·1 to 5 mg kg–1.
