Abstract
A patient with recurrent meningitis and congenital hearing loss was evaluated with tomography and metrizamide cisternography. Tomography showed an aberrant 1st portion of the facial nerve canal, while on cisternography, communication between the internal auditory canal and the dilated labyrinthine remnant was evident. The radiographic findings and their significance were described. A mechanism for the formation of the anomalous facial nerve canal was proposed. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
