Sulphur-bridged complexes involving the ligand 2,2'-dimercaptodiethyl sulphide

Abstract
The ligand 2,2'-dimercaptodiethyl sulphide has been prepared and complexes formed with divalent Ni, Pd, Pt, Pb, Hg, and Co. In each of these compounds there is a 1 : 1 molar ratio of ligand to metal. Spectral, magnetic, and conductivity measurements for the nickel(11) and palladium(11) compounds are consistent with molecular configurations involving four-coordinate, neutral, sulphur-bridged structures.
